Per Heritage Auctions: "All of the first 100 numbers were preserved for collectors by Amon Carter, Jr., who commissioned then Washington, DC dealer Phil Lampkin to travel to Puerto Rico and secure the first pack of the newly released $100 Red Seals. (Amon's strong connections to the Johnson administration certainly helped here.)"
